An English art glass paperweight, handcrafted in 1983 by Whitefriars Glass of London. Designed with concentric circles of millefiori canes in pale pink and white with hints of green surrounding a central butterfly cane of cobalt blue on white. The millefiori design rests on a cushion ground of deep aqua blue. The upper part of the weight is clear glass with one large top facet and six smaller facets around the sides. There is a blue and white 1983 date cane on the base surrounding a Whitefriars white robed monk. Very good condition with very little wear, measuring 1.5 in. height x 2.25 in. diameter. The weight retains its original box with "Whitefriars Paperweight" embossed in gold script.
