A vintage Scandinavian cut crystal decanter designed by Sven Palmqvist (Palmquist) for Orrefors of Sweden. The heavy clear crystal decanter has an elegant, modern look with an original stopper resembling an ice cube and long oval facets running the length of the cylindrical body on four sides. The decanter was designed for liquor or whiskey and measures 10.75 in. high (to the top of stopper) x 3.75 in. diameter. Very good condition, signed and numbered on the base: Orrefors P (for Palmqvist) 2508. Sven Robert Palmquist (1906–1984) was a leading 20th century Swedish glass artist who worked for the Orrefors between the 1940s and 1970s. Orrefors Glassworks was established in 1898 by Johnan August Samuelson.
