A vintage Scandinavian cut crystal decanter designed by Sven Palmqvist (Palmquist) for Orrefors of Sweden. The elegant and minimal spirit decanter of heavy clear crystal features a substantial base, four canted corners, and its original stopper. Designed for liquor or whiskey, this sleek design remains in very good condition, engraved and numbered by hand on the base: Orrefors P (for Palmqvist) 2753-111, measuring 9.88 in. high (to the top of stopper) x 4.75 in. W x 2.63 in. D. Sven Robert Palmquist (1906–1984) was a leading 20th century Swedish glass artist who worked for the Orrefors between the 1940s and 1970s. Orrefors Glassworks was established at the end of the 19th century and began producing art glass in 1913.
