A set of 12 knife rests in heavy, high-quality French métal argenté (silvered metal) from Ranivet d'Enfert of Paris complete with original fitted box.
This early 20th century design features a simple Rococo style shell resting on flared C-scroll foot. Each knife rests is in excellent condition, measuring 3 in L x 1.25 in W x 1 in H and marked with Ravinet d'Enfert logo. The embossed green box measures 9.88 in L x 7.5 in W x 1.25 in H is in good condition with working clasps and hinges but some wear at corners. The white interior lining is stamped Ravinet d'Enfert / PARIS in gold and shows wear around the edges including a series of pin prick holes.
Although founded in 1845, the firm became Ravinet d'Enfert in 1891, operating within the former Hotel de Caumartin at 83 rue du Temple in the Marais. The firm earned gold medals at the Lyon Universal Exhibition in 1894 and Brussels in 1897. Ravinet d’Enfert exhibited at International exhibitions in 1900, 1925 and 1937, and in Brussels in 1958.
