A vintage French faience wall pocket from the Emaux de Longwy art pottery workshop in France. The ceramic clog has a molded hole on one side so it can be hung on the wall but this ornamental container can easily decorate a desk, shelf, vanity, or tabletop. There is an interesting label underfoot that reads: SENT HOME / FROM GERMANY / IN 1944 BY / ELLIS WYANT.

The design is hand-decorated with a colorful enameled glaze in a cloisonné-style chinoiserie design. The decoration consists of multicolored blossoms on a bright blue ground while the interior is a contrasting salmon pink featuring Longwy's signature Chinese style craquelure glaze. Very good condition, measuring 6 in L. Longwy black printed factory marks flank this homemade red label.
