A tall midcentury Larholm Keramikk vase, made in Norway during the 1950s. The Scandinavian Modern vase of elongated form has a short neck and flaring rim. The vessel was decorated by hand with a slightly streaky matte black ground and hand-painted light green glazed accents creating a raised and abstracted artichoke, pinecone, or fish scale pattern. The foot, shoulder, rim, and interior are also glazed in glossy pale green. The vase is signed Larholm / Norway / 109 by hand on base and measures 16.75 in. H. Very good condition, no chips, cracks, or repair but several nicks, scratches, and some visible streaking in lighter patches of the black ground.

Nils Larsen & Øystein Holm-Olsen founded their ceramic workshop in the early 1940s, combining their surnames to name their studio "Larholm."
