A vintage Scandinavian vase commemorating a Swedish warship built between 1626 and 1628 from the Gustavsberg Porcelain Factory of Sweden. The Art Deco style vase is part of the company's Argenta series created by Swedish artist, painter and ceramist, Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960), Gustavsberg's artistic director from 1917-1948.

This glazed stoneware vessel features a semi-matte green mottled glaze designed to emulate marble with a silver representation of the Swedish warship and waves on the front, WASA 1628 on the reverse, and a band of silver at the rim.

The rectangular vase dates to the mid-20th century and is in very good condition, measuring 7 inches high x 2.75 inches wide x 1.75 inches depth with a gold printed Gustavsberg / Argenta / 199 / Made in Sweden mark underfoot over a Wasa / Namnden round paper label.
