A vintage sterling silver patch or pill box with an ornamental dragon (or griffin) on the lid in the style of Chinese Export silver. The dragon is framed by rococo-style C-scrolls and leaves. The hinged box has beading encircling the bottom half of the design and the interior retains its original gold wash. The box is stamped 550 on the base and the lower rim is stamped with an unidentified maker's mark beside STERLING. The box has the look of Chinese export silver but we cannot be certain. Good condition with a little tarnish and a few scuffs and scattered shallow scratches. There appears to be an old repair or reinforcement above the hinge (pictured). The box measures 1 in. height x 2 in. diameter.
