A vintage French faience keepsake, trinket, or vanity box from the Emaux de Longwy art pottery workshop of France. The ceramic box is hand-decorated with a bold and colorful Chinoiserie style glaze of multi-colored blossoms, green leaves, and black branches against a bright blue ground. The interior of the box and it’s lid feature a pale robins egg blue glaze accented with Longwy's signature craquelure technique. At 4 inches diameter, the box is the perfect size for an end table, nightstand, or vanity and would also make a handsome desk accessory. Very good condition. The underside is fully marked with Longwy's green printed EMAUX DE LONGWY / SEVIGNE / FRANCE factory mark, used circa 1955-1960. Additional marks include: MADE IN FRANCE, NOP, and F3340.
