A French Muller Frères à Lunéville circular bowl fitted within a wrought iron carrier, dating circa 1920. The frosted art glass bowl with blue, green, and pink mottled accents bears an acid-etched Muller Fres / Luneville mark on the side. The combination of colored glass enclosed in dark, patinated iron creates a stained glass effect. The round iron basket rests on four ball feet and features a hinged, bail handle with decorative crimped details overall. The design was produced for a tabletop and would make an ideal decorative accent for a console, coffee or dining table.
The centerpiece bowl / basket is in very good condition, measuring 6 inches height (to the top of the hinged handle) x 10.5 inches W (at widest part of handle) x 8.25 inches D.
The Muller Brothers glassworks (Verrerie d'Art Muller Frères) created a successful line of clear and frosted molded glass, sourcing their iron stands and mounts from the firms of Louis Majorelle and Louis Katona.
