A pair of Rookwood Pottery production candle holders made in 1922. The American Arts & Crafts candlesticks shaped like fluted columns are decorated with an artistic matte glaze of velvety dusty rose-pink with pale green accents around the top third of the design. Each in very good condition, measuring 5.88 in. height x 3.75 in. diameter (at the base). Each bear Rookwood's RP flame trademark over XXII [1922] and 2199 [form number] impressed on the base.  

Maria Longworth Nichols (1849-1932) founded Rookwood Pottery in 1880 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rookwood quickly became America's pre-eminent art pottery, winning a number of prestigious awards including the Grand Prix at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
