A superb turn-of-the-century pair of French Art Nouveau Pierrefonds vases with cut-out designs and sophisticated crystalline green, blue and gold glazes, made between 1905 and 1908. The European Sculpture and Decorative Arts collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has a very similar example.

At the end of the 19th century, Olivier de Sorra's French factory, Pierrefonds, was known for its production of fine stoneware and artistic crystalline glazes. The company became The Societe Faienciere Heraldique de Pierrefonds pottery studio in 1903 and continued to produce sophisticated forms enveloped in their signature crystalline and flambe glazes.

Measuring 12 in. H x 7 in. W and in very good condition, impressed Pierrefonds factory marks (heraldic helmet flanked by P & H surmounting Pierrefonds) on each base.
