A Scandinavian Modern BACA pillow vase designed by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen of Denmark in the 1960s. Thorsson's rectangular vase in neutral shades of brown, beige, and white features abstracted fish and flower motifs framed by decorative borders.

The midcentury art pottery vessel is in very good condition, with a mark dating the production between 1969 and 1973. The vase measures 7.63 in. H x 5.82 in. W x 3.5 in. D. and bears full printed factory marks on the base, including Royal Copenhagen / Denmark / Fajance over Nils Thorsson's artist cipher.

Nils Johan Thorvald Thorsson (1898–1975) was a Swedish-Danish ceramic artist, a prolific designer, and the Artistic Director of Royal Copenhagen. Thorsson's work exemplifies mid-century Danish modernism; he designed the Baca production range in the 1960s.
