A large Royal Doulton Flambé vase from the Art Deco period, dating circa 1930. The rim and shoulders of the English art pottery vessel are decorated with a bold and glossy glaze of deep red over a textured blue body with fiery tendrils of golden orange and yellow. This tall and striking piece is an ideal accent for any Art Deco or Hollywood Regency interior. The earthenware vase is in very good condition with a few tiny scuffs/scratches, free-from chips, cracks or repair, measuring: 11.25 in. height. The base bears a black printed Royal Doulton standard mark (lion, crown and roundel) over Flambé / Veined / 1619. Doulton's chief designer, Charles Noke (1858-1941) used metallic oxides and reduction glazes to develop the artistic Flambe, Chang, and Sung ware lines, resulting in sophisticated, ornamental glazes in patterns and colors unique to each individual object.
