A large iridescent Bohemian art glass vase with an Art Nouveau metal mount dating circa 1900-1905. The satin green glass shows metallic shades of gold, purple, and blue iridescence and a ribbed pattern that twists and swirls upward diagonally. The patinated metalwork consists of a central Art Nouveau maiden whose billowing hair flows up and outward forming a pair of handles.

The substantial antique vase is in good condition with a few scattered scuffs. There is a join at the back of the metal mount (behind the hair) that appears to be re-soldered. The vase is 13.75 inches height x 7 inches wide (at handles) x 5.5 inches diameter (at base).

Colorful European glassware reached the peak of its popularity for export during the last quarter of the 19th century. A number of German and Austro-Hungarian (Bohemian and Czech) glassmakers including Pallme König, Rindskopf, Josef Riedel, Moser, Loetz, Harrach, Poschinger, and Kralik produced many works similar in shape and color. While the pattern is similar to Loetz's Gerippt & Gedreht [ribbed & twisted], the pattern and metal mounts indicate this form is likely from Kralik Glassworks (Wilhelm Kralik Söhn).
