An English Art Deco cigarette case in sterling silver and enamel by Joseph Gloster Ltd., Lion Silver Works, Hockley Hill, Birmingham.

The upper surface of the vintage case is decorated with two fields of green guilloche enamel separated by a silver register engraved with a central MM monogram. The larger enameled field, in a sunburst pattern, shimmers as light hits the decoration from different angles. The gold washed interior retains its original elastic band and the case is marked 'J.G.Ltd' for J. Gloster with hallmarks for sterling silver, Birmingham, and a 1934 date mark.

The decorative box is in very good condition with working hinges and a clasp that snaps that closed securely, measuring 3.25 in. H x 2.5 in. W (from hinges to edge of clasp). The enameling is undamaged, there are a few small/fine scratches to the silver, the gold washed interior shows some minor wear and darkening, and the base has a couple of very minor indents close to the clasp where it was handled.
