An Art Nouveau stoneware vase from Pierrefonds Pottery of France. This sculptural and substantial antique vessel was handcrafted at the turn of the 20th century, circa 1905. The art pottery vase was designed two handles and decorated with an attractive drip glaze in two shades of blue over a contrasting ground of golden brown with crystalline clusters scattered around the body. There is just a hint of pinky-violet added to the glaze inside the neck. Very good condition, measuring 7.5 in. height x 8 in. diameter (at widest point). Fully marked: heraldic helmet flanked by P & H over Pierrefonds with form number 328 impressed underfoot. At the end of the 19th century, Count Olivier de Sorra's French factory, Pierrefonds Pottery, was known for the production of Fine stoneware with artistic crystalline glazes. In 1903, The company became The Societe Faienciere Heraldique de Pierrefonds Pottery studio, continuing their production of sophisticated forms enveloped in crystalline and flambé glazes.
