Customer Reviews
An antique French faience Art Deco vase designed by Paul Jean Milet (1870-1950) for the Paul Milet Pottery at Sèvres, France, dating circa 1915. The art pottery vase is decorated with a sophisticated stippled / speckled glaze in shades of dark bleu poudré (powder blue) with an antique white glazed interior and base.
This elegant French vessel is in very good, undamaged condition, measuring 8 in. H x 4 in W. Fully marked with 363B impressed underfoot and the early Atelier Milet printed mark consisting of MP above Sevres within a dotted circle, used prior to 1930.
The Milet Pottery at Sevres was the product of a dynasty of ceramic artists beginning with Paul Milet's father, Felix Optat Milet. Paul Milet was eventually succeeded by his son, Henri Milet.
