A tall French art pottery vase with a glossy flambe glaze in shades of dark aubergine purple with accents of pale blue, white, tan and hints of iridescence. The vase features a slightly flared foot rim supporting a swelling body that tapers sharply into a long, attenuated neck. The classic Arts & Crafts shape resembles Roycroft's iconic American Beauty vase; this piece displays particularly well on a mantel and/or center table and benefits from lots of light to enhance the color scheme. Good condition with crazing and a few small scuffs and shallow scratches, measuring 12.5 in. height, bearing impressed marks underfoot: [unknown maker's mark; DL? in an oval] / FRANCE / 288 / 2.
