An Art Deco period dish or wine bottle coaster in silver and enamel from Norwegian silversmith, David Andersen of Oslo, dating to the early 1920s. The jewel-toned enamelwork consists of a round, central medallion with a deep red band of guilloche enamel encircled by channels of green enamel radiating outward to form a sunburst or flower motif. The folded rim features a garland of blossoms and leaves while the side bears a charming engraved presentation inscription: Georg - Otto / fra [from] / Far [Father] / October 1928.

Measuring: 5.25 inches diameter x 1.25 in. height, the coaster in in good condition with a few minor nicks, scuffs and shallow scratches; the enamel is undamaged. The base is stamped 5944 under 830 [indicating sterling silver fineness] alongside David-Andersen's early Hammer and tongs maker's mark, used until 1925.
