A large antique porcelain armorial punch bowl with the arms of the Cantillon family at Ballyheigue.

FORTIS IN BELLO motto translates to invincible / strong / courageous in war. Additional decoration of bright overglaze enamels, flower sprigs, raised hand-painted slip lines and gilt with a Chinese diaper pattern border.

Unmarked but almost certainly Samson of Paris, made in the 19th century in the style of Chinese Export armorial wares from the 18th century. Very good condition with small spots of wear to gilded rim, measuring 4.6 in. H x 11 in. Diameter.
