An English Minton secessionist ware vase made circa 1910 at Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire. Mintons produced these colorful designs by Léon V. Solon (1873-1957) and John W. Wadsworth (1879-1955) from circa 1901 through 1920.

This vessel is decorated with an attractive polychrome Majolica (lead) glaze in the Art Nouveau style. The decor of stylized floral and foliate motifs includes white blossoms, green tendrils and blue-green leaves on a rich purple ground. A version of this Solon-designed decor was illustrated in a Mintons Ltd. China works secessionist ware catalogue in 1902. Very good condition with some typical crazing, bearing a transfer-printed Minton / LTD / NO. 33 mark underfoot. The vase measures 7 in. H.
