A superb turn of the 20th century art pottery vase from Pierrefonds Pottery of France, dating circa 1905. The antique stoneware vase features Art Nouveau style cicadas or grasshoppers perched on top of either shoulder and a sophisticated pale green crystalline glaze with golden brown accents. 

Very good condition, measuring 7.5 in. H x 6.5 in. W. Impressed Pierrefonds alongside form number 583 on the base. 

At the end of the 19th century, Count Olivier de Sorra's French factory, Pierrefonds Pottery, was known for the production of fine stoneware with artistic crystalline glazes. In 1903, The company became The Societe Faienciere Heraldique de Pierrefonds Pottery studio, continuing their production of sophisticated forms enveloped in crystalline and flambé glazes.
