A pair of American Arts and Crafts candle holders from Weller Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio. The antique candlesticks are from Weller's Eocean late line of hand-decorated art pottery. Weller introduced the Eocean decor in 1898, producing it for 20 years until 1918. Each candlestick was decorated by hand using underglaze slip to build up yellow roses and green leaves with vivid pink and blue accents on a glossy ground that shades from pale gray at the base to black at the candle cups. The candlesticks holds standard-sized taper candles and measure 7 in. height x 3.5 in. diameter (at base). Both pieces are marked WELLER on the base, one more faintly than the other. Very good, age-appropriate condition with some crazing; one candlestick top slants slightly upward.
