A large Rosenthal porcelain vase ornamented with an elegant, overlay design of pure silver handcrafted in Germany between 1953 and 1956. The silver overlay work consists of spiraling tendrils with two silver bands at the rim, one at the shoulder and one at the foot over a bright white body and pale blue-grey upper ground. The silver is stamped 1000/1000 around the bottom rim signifying a pure silver overlay crafted from the highest quality of silver available. This mark was used by a handful of German metalworkers specializing in silver overlay work, including Friedrich Deutsch, Manfred Veyhl, and Friedrich Wilhelm Spahr. The vase is in very good condition with no damage, wear, or repair, measuring 13.5 in. H x 5.75 in. W. Marked underfoot with a green underglaze mark used by Rosenthal Porzellan AG between 1953 and 1956: Rosenthal / Selb Plossberg / Bavaria-Germany.
