A large Art Deco glass ball vase raised on a circular foot by Schneider Art Glass of France (Verreries Schneider), circa 1928. The textured, thick-walled glass design invokes melting ice and a wheel-cut sunburst pattern radiates outward from the upper rim. The colors shade from clear to a pink-lavendar to amethyst at the polished flat slab foot.

Acid etched Schneider / France mark on the outer foot rim dates the piece to the height of the company's artistic production, between 1924 and 1933. The "Schneider" mark was a designation granted to only the highest quality pieces of art glass. The base is marked Stewart et C- / New York. This large and heavy art glass design measures 7.75 in. H. x 9.5 in. diameter and is in very good condition with expected scuffs/scratches on the base. A scratch and several scuff marks are visible on the upper foot.

Glass artist and designer Charles Schneider (1881-1953) studied at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Nancy and worked as a freelance designer for Daum before opening Verreries Schneider Glass works in 1918 at Épinay-sur-Seine in France.
