A pair of Arts and Crafts style reversible candleholders designed to be overturned and used as tazzas (a shallow footed dish), hand-hammered in highly polished pewter by Serge Nekrassoff (1895-1985) of Darien, Connecticut, in the 1930s.

The design is reminiscent of Nekrassoff's contemporaries working in silver and other art metals, including Georg Jensen and Carl Poul Petersen. The similarities range from highly polished surfaces with visible spot hammering to the use of scrolling tulip motifs flanking the candle cup and / or foot.

Each pieces is in very good condition with tiny oxidation spots and shallow surface scratches, stamped S. NEKRASSOFF underfoot, measuring 2 in. H x 6 in D.
