A handsome Art Nouveau stoneware vase from Pierrefonds Pottery of France. This sculptural and heavy antique vessel was crafted by hand at the turn of the 20th century, circa 1905. The vessel has two "batwing" handles and an attractive variegated glaze of tan shading to golden brown with contrasting crystalline accents in icy blue.

Very good condition with several glaze pops from original firing, measuring 10.25 in. H x 8.25 in. (at widest part of handles). Impressed Pierrefonds factory mark (heraldic helmet flanked by P & H) over Pierrefonds and form number 340 on the base.

At the end of the 19th century, Count Olivier de Sorra's French factory, Pierrefonds Pottery, was known for the production of fine stoneware with artistic crystalline glazes. In 1903, The company became The Societe Faienciere Heraldique de Pierrefonds Pottery studio, continuing their production of sophisticated forms enveloped in crystalline and flambe glazes.
