An award-winning set of two of midcentury covered box canisters designed by Grete Prytz Kittelsen (1917–2010) for Cathrineholm of Norway in 1955. This Kittelsen / Cathrineholm design won a Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale IX in 1957. The boxes are part of Cathrineholm's Cathedral series with Strek (line) decor in jewel-toned enamels of burgundy and olive green.

The vintage canisters of polished stainless steel were likely designed as cigarette boxes as both contain an insert of hard, clear plastic. Both pieces are in very good condition; the larger measuring 3.63 in. H x 3.25 in. diameter. The set would display well on a desk, vanity, coffee or bedside table; they would also make a wonderful house warming gift.
