A large Art Deco period faience bowl on a ring foot, made in France by the Emaux de Longwy art pottery workshop and dating circa 1920s.

The earthenware bowl is hand-decorated with Chinoiserie decor and a cloisonné-style enameled glaze. The decoration consists of multicolored blossoms with green leaves and blue stems on a bright blue ground. The underside is a pale turquoise blue with the Longwy factory's signature Chinese-style craquelure crazing; the upper rim is a contrasting dark cobalt blue. The upper and lower borders of the bowl are bright golden yellow bands with garlands of blue blossoms and green leaves.

The underside is fully marked with several hand-written, printed and impressed numbers around Longwy's "Onze Croix" black printed mark, featuring eleven Lorraine crosses with "SOCIETE DES FAIENCERIES / LONGWY around the design and FRANCE underneath. This mark was used during the Art Deco period between 1919 and 1939. The piece is in very good condition with typical glaze pops, measuring 3 in. H x 10.25 in. diameter.
