A large silver metal platter in a midcentury biomorphic shape designed by Eva Zeisel (1906-2011), based on her original ceramic design for Hall China Company's Tomorrow's Classic Service in 1952. Zeisel designed this sculptural serving piece for Nambe of New Mexico in 1999; the tray was offered in 2000 and is no longer in production. The cast and polished platter was the largest available and immediately acquired by The British Museum. The platter is in very good condition with a few minor scratches, measuring 17 in. L x 10.75 in. W. x 2 in. H. Marked nambe / 702 / @2000 / Eva Zeisel / Made in the USA on base with original Nambe retail sticker. For additional information on Zeisel's collaborations with Nambe, see Eva Zeisel: Life, Design, and Beauty, 2013, pp. 137,  211. 'Nambe' is a trade name for the company's proprietary white metal alloy.
