A large Rookwood Pottery production vase made during the Arts and Crafts period in 1921. The American art pottery vase is a substantial piece with an hexagonal mouth and molded points encircling the shoulder connecting to ridges down the body. The vessel is covered in an artistic matte glaze of a velvety dusty rose-pink with drip glaze accents containing just a hint of pale green.

Very good condition with a couple of lines that look like pencil marks on top of the glaze, measuring 9.75 in. H x 5.88 in. Diameter (at shoulder), with Rookwood's RP flame trademark, XXI [1921] / 2414 [form number] impressed on the base.

Maria Longworth Nichols (1849-1932) founded Rookwood Pottery in 1880 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rookwood quickly became America's pre-eminent art pottery, winning a number of prestigious awards including the Grand Prix at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
