An Art Deco era art metal vase from the NKA Ikora workshop of WMF AG (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) of Geislingen, Germany, dating to the late 1920s.

The footed vessel is decorated with a handsome green 'fire patina' that looks like an aged and naturally occurring verdigris surface with leaves and accent lines etched and engraved around the body by hand. This style of decoration is attributed to the Haustein School, after Professor Paul Haustien (1880-1944) a WMF designer and former member of the German Werkbund.

The vase is in very good condition, measuring 7.13 in. H and stamped underfoot with Oden Tower double WMF mark used between 1928 and 1935.

WMF used heat, chemicals, and resist processes to create colorful patinas and effects for the surfaces of their art metal designs. This vase is decorated with a technique called green fire patina. The surface decor was finished by hand with engraved leaves and accent lines around the body.
