An elegant, Art Deco period low bowl designed and produced in the 1920s by Charles Catteau's fantasy art pottery workshop (Atelier de fantaisie) at Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium. Hand-decorated with an unusual peacock-inspired palette of mottled blues ranging from aqua to cobalt with yellow highlights. Gilt bronze handles and rim.
Very good condition with crazing on base and some wear to original gilding, measuring 9.12 in. W x 2.5 in. H. Printed factory mark with form number 616 & the initial K impressed on base. Mounts stamped 3520 on reverse.
