An early Zsolnay Pecs ornamental cabinet vase in porcelain faience with cloisonné-style decoration. The small, antique vessel is hand-decorated with jewel-toned blossoms, leaves, and hearts with gilt accents on a plum colored ground. The rich color palette and dense style of decoration was a hallmark of Aesthetic Movement design and its popularity continued through the Victorian Era.
Very good condition with early Five Churches / Zsolnay Pecs blue mark including Family Initials T.J.M. for Terez, Julia, and Miklos. The mark was designed by Julia and used between 1878 and 1900.
