An antique Amphora vase with Art Nouveau openwork floral decoration, designed by Paul Dachsel for Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel (RStK) of Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia (Austria), today the Teplice region of the Czech Republic.

The vase was produced in porcelain (as opposed to earthenware) making it a part of Reissner, Stellmacher & Kessel's early collections. It is an exceptional example of the technical and artistic achievements of Amphora's modelers. The openwork floral wreath of roses at the rim is decorated with an attractive high gloss green and pink metallic luster glaze. The hand-painted matte body, referred to as fog or cloud decor, is accented with sinuous vines in relief trailing downward to form a decorative lower band against a sponged green ground. The vines and body are highlighted with gilt accents.

The vase is in very good condition. The openwork wreath is undamaged but there is some expected wear to the gilt accents. The vase measures 7.25 in. H x 4 in. Diameter (at widest) and is marked on base with the red printed RStK factory mark used before 1905, green hand-painted 1587. (possible decorators mark), impressed Amphora inside an oval, impressed 653 / 53.
