Alphonse Cytere Rambervillers French art pottery vase with a stunning metallic luster glaze with crystalline accents, ca. 1910-1920.

The sophisticated luster glaze ranges from deep shades of maroon and red, with green accents at the shoulder and a dark purple crystalline pattern encircling the body.

Excellent condition, measuring 6.5" W x 8" H. Impressed company and "511" marks accompanied by "9243" / "8" / "France" handwritten in black on the base.

In 1903, Alphonse Cytere set up an art studio in Rambervillers, France, near the artistic center of Nancy, producing ceramics with unusual and iridescent glazes on organic forms.
Rambervillers became famous for these unique pieces with superb luster glazes, designed by the prestigious artists of the Ecole de Nancy, including Galle, Majorelle, Gruber, Schneider, Vallin, and Vautrin. Cytere died in 1941, taking his glaze manufacturing secrets to the grave.
